overall: druella has a strong personality to say the least. she is extremely confident in herself and her talents. when she sets her sights on achieving something, very little can stand in her way. as a slytherin, she is very cunning and able to devise a complex and plausible lie on the spot. what some may find worrying is that she rarely feels guilty about lying which makes her even better at it. ella knows what she thinks and has no trouble defending it. she will pick everything apart in search of flaws and make those flaws obvious to everyone. at least everyone's flaws but her own.
despite her assertive and slightly unpleasant personality, dru does have a handful of friends though most of these should really be called allies rather than friends. besides her family, the only people she really trusts are umbridge (the minister, not his mother) and the four professors that were appointed with her. she has other acquaintances that she would reluctantly say she gets on with but most people take a disliking to her. mudbloods and their friends and relatives make up the vast majority of her enemies but there are also several halfbloods and purebloods she's rubbed the wrong way. does she care? not particularly.
background
mother: katherine lockwood, deceased.
father: alexander lockwood, fifty-one, ministry official.
siblings: christopher lockwood, twenty-two, ministry official.
other relatives: n/a.
overall: druella's childhood wasn't particularly spectacular. she was born in cambridge and for the first three years of her life, she was spoilt rotten by her parents alexander and katherine. her brother christopher was then born and thanks to her parents' seemingly endless supply of money, she was still spoilt rotten. anything she laid her eyes on was hers and druella loved it. though her parents were both serious and talented purebloods, they had a definite soft spot for their children and druella knew all too well of this, exploiting the relationship for everything she desired. once her hogwarts letter came, she scurried off to hogwarts and was sorted into slytherin, followed shortly into the same house by her brother.
though she was away from home, ella still had plenty of funding. her parents had enough influence to get her on the hogsmeade weekends from her first year and she made good use of the money her parents gave to her. she joined the quidditch team in her fifth year and played for slytherin as a chaser until she left. after graduating with a good set of newts, she saw no reason to work. sure, she was pretty damn good at transfiguration but with her parents' inheritances to support her, she couldn't think of a reason to waste her time in a job. then her mother died.
drew was devastated. she had loved katherine more than anything else in the world and now she had just disappeared completely. she begged alexander to bring her back, certain that he must know someone that could help. "i'm sorry ella but no amount of money can solve this. she's gone and we can't get her back." druella's viewpoint changed dramatically. she now knew that money didn't hold the answer to everything. while her parents had always told her that being a pureblood was special and important but they hadn't gone as far as to call everyone else inferior. when ella found out that the healer who'd been caring for katherine while she was ill was a muggle-born, she instantly blamed her. drew was convinced that it had been her inability to do magic probably that had caused her mother's death. from that day on, she never looked at mudbloods the same.
a short while afterwards, she was introduced to a man named umbridge. he'd set his sights on becoming minister for magic and when she found out why, druella offered her services to him. just like her, he couldn't stand mudbloods and wanted to push them back to the bottom where they belonged. he instructed her to pick a subject and polish her knowledge until she was good enough to teach and teach it well. having excelled in transfiguration during her hogwarts years, she started studying and practicing.
druella was nineteen was kingsley and minerva were killed. she had her suspicions that umbridge was behind it but if that's what it took to get him in power then so be it. when she turned twenty-one, umbridge called upon her services. he wanted her to teach at hogwarts with four other professors and get a firm foothold in the school. druella did just that. the following year, dolores was released from azkaban and umbridge got down to the nitty gritty - stamping down the mudbloods.
ella has been teaching at hogwarts for the past five years. though she didn't expect it, she does enjoy her job and doesn't intend to lose it anytime soon. drew knows what is expected of her and that is to ensure umbridge's laws are upheld, which she is more than happy to do.
